June 2007

As spring moves into early summer the soft pinks and mauves of columbines, geraniums and foxgloves are giving way to the hot scarlet and magenta of Lychnis and Oriental poppies. Daisy studded Erigeron is tumbling over the wall of the herb garden and thyme is at last flowering in the new gravel bed ~ how I adore this time of year.

My NGS Open Garden day was a great success. The relentless rain of the preceding week finally held off and the day went without a hitch. Special thanks to my many kind helpers including Lily and Meghan who sold tickets at the gate and to the 215 people who visited the garden for such a great cause.

Suzie Gibbons the plant and garden photographer took these lovely pics while she was here. Visit her website to see more of her great  photographs. Now its time to catch up on design work so it’s back into the studio for me!
