This has been a month in which I’ve thought it wise not to expect too much in the way of reward from my garden! Snowdrops are at last beginning to show white flower tips and Clematis cirrhosa is valiantly bursting into bud, but little else is worthy of note.

Visual delights have instead been indoors where pots of flowering moth orchids and a collection of ‘nature table’ treasures collected in more clement weather have ‘brought the outside in.’
Supremely elegant, Phalaenopsis are tolerant of shade and warmth and can flower for months at a time. Colours range from creamy white to rich garnet and the petals can be plain, mottled, striped or speckled.
