December 2012

As the days lengthen and the garden slips quietly into winter I must sadly begin the painful process of bidding it farewell.  After 22 years it is painful to leave both it and the plants, flowers, trees and shrubs that have brought me so much joy.

At the start of 2014 I hope to begin the process of planning and creating another but in the meantime my gardening activities are only ‘virtual’ – spent sketching out ideas in my ‘new garden’ notebook, re-reading my favourite gardening books and making plant lists.

Scrolling through the many photos I have taken over the years and looking for a suitable image to end with, rather than a picture of winter what could be more fitting than this simple forget-me-not – symbol of love, remembrance and hope?

Thank you for sharing these pages with me – I wish you much happy gardening in the future!
